The Saint Ignatius girls varsity tennis team is off to an impressive start. Coming off last year’s dominating 12-2 record, the Wolfpack is determined to continue their winning tradition. Although key players Sadie Sue Ross and Gabriela Cilella graduated, the team is ready to come out strong this year.
The Wolfpack opened their season with a dominant 5-0 victory over North Shore country. They also competed in the Beverly Bank and Trust Company invitational where they went undefeated.
“This tournament was so exciting to play in and especially win with my teammates,” said senior Meghan Tracy.

Saint Ignatius has just unveiled brand-new tennis courts on campus, marking the first time the Wolfpack has ever had their own home courts. Located just behind the baseball fields, these courts provide a new dedicated space for the Ignatius tennis teams to proudly represent the Wolfpack.
Captain Anna Stuart 26’ said “I am so pumped for my last tennis season at Saint Ignatius and all of the fun memories and wins I am going to make with my amazing teammates.”
The team’s strong start reflects the Wolfpack’s hard work and dedication for their sport. They’re undefeated opening week has sparked a lot of excitement for their season.The team continues their season playing some big matches against Loyola Academy on Sept. 18. This game will take place at Loyola at 4:30 p.m. The Wolfpack is very excited to have a great season once again.
