Saint Ignatius College Prep’s coziest vibes are found in the Counseling Department, which is the perfect place for students to stop by to take a break during a busy day at school.

Located on the third floor by the wood stairs, the school counseling department consists of six school counselors, a student support counselor, and a school therapist. who are committed to assisting with the academic success of and the mental well-being of Saint Ignatius students.
With offices containing comfy chairs and couches, fidget toys, and positive vibes, counselor Sean O’Connor said that “students like to come here and sort of recharge their batteries, and the counseling office is a safe space to do just that.”
“Our thing of focus here in the counseling department is to help students with academic advising and counseling, and then blending it over to the social and emotional aspects, ” said O’Connor.
The members of the counseling department agreed that it’s a nice collaborative team that works with each other and gets involved in freshman advisory, run clubs, and coach sports.
“It’s also nice for students to be able to build a comfort level with not just their counselor, but being able to stop by another counselor’s office when theirs is not around,” O’Connor said. “We are able to achieve this comfort level for students by simply being visible in our offices and able to chat.”
